I'm trying to pay attention and not "blog" (er, write) while the speakers are speaking. But Pete Blackshaw of Intelliseek is better at multi-tasking. Read his post on Passion & Authority... two essential ingredients of an effective blog, according to Robert Scoble. And check out the equally cogent comment under this post by Rick Murray of Edelman. BTW, did you notice that I simply borrowed I'm trying to pay attention and not "blog" (er, write) while the speakers are speaking. But Pete Blackshaw of Intelliseek is better at multi-tasking. BTW, did you notice that I simply borrowed "content" from others to write this post? Blogging Lesson: You don't need to create every bit of your blog content. Link to other smart blog posts and you're providing a valuable service to your readers. This is a key point when it comes to "corporate blogging." It doesn't need to take that much time.

Microsoft's celebrity blogger, Robert Scoble, gave the first presentation this morning at the Blog Biz Summit. Here's the scoop... He's young (celebrated his 40th birthday over the weekend), personable and initially comes across as slightly shy. OK, he's cute too... And an endearing klutz with PowerPoint. The whole time he spoke, only one slide was up. It said "Bootstrapping"… and then Microsoft's celebrity blogger, Robert Scoble, gave the first presentation this morning at the Blog Biz Summit. Here's the scoop... He's young (celebrated his 40th birthday over the weekend), personable and initially comes across as slightly shy. OK, he's cute too... And an endearing klutz with PowerPoint. The whole time he spoke, only one slide was up. It said "Bootstrapping"… and then that annoying ‘click to add text.' He was dressed in the requisite black from black button-down shirt to black jacket to black (non-matching) slacks. All in all a very good and engaging speaker. (Is there a lesson here? Put up your PPT slides and then ignore them...) Look forward to hearing more from him this afternoon and tomorrow.
