Karen_debbie_2 Had a wonderful lunch in Washington DC last week with Karen Christensen of Berkshire blog fame. Karen is CEO of Great Barrington, MA - based publishing company Berkshire Publishing Group. Recently she's been spending weeks at a time in China.

Notice her Beijing Olympics Pin affixed to her lapel. It's a collector's item which she picked up on a recent trip!

Guanxi One reason she's visiting so often is to promote her company's publication, Guanxi: The China Letter. Guanxi means "relationships" and is pronounced Guan-shi.  The  newsletter is a "Guide for the 21st Century China Hand" of which there are many wannabes, myself included. (See the China Blogging Tour.)

She kindly offered me several recent copies and I'm devouring them. It's terrifically well done (both substantive and accessible) and I highly recommend it.
