Read about the FINAL BlogPotomac
The Final BlogPotomac on Friday Oct. 23, 2009 in Falls Church, VA was a smash. Great wrap-ups by Beth Kanter and Arik Hanson. Below I’m hanging with DC Gov 2.0 celeb Mark Drapeau (aka @cheeky_geeky). Photo by Nahum Gershon. More of Nahum’s BlogPotomac photos here.
I co-chaired the first BlogPotomac in 2008 with the brilliant Geoff Livingston. This was a great one-day conference but it is an event that has served its purpose. Since June 2008 the number of conferences in DC about social media has exploded. A few recent examples: in September 2009 the inaugural Gov 2.0 Summit launched with a huge crowd of attendees (and coverage by bloggers and mainstream media). Also in Sept., Network Solutions’ put on GrowSmartBiz attended by 499 people. TWTRCON DC drew a big crowd and excellent speakers in October 2009.
Read the Q&As with keynote speaker Beth Kanter, Crayonista Jane Quigley and emcee Shonali Burke. Every attendee received a free copy of Shel Israel‘s new book, Twitterville.
