Excellence in Corporate Blogging for Media Relations Summit

Monday May 18, 2009

11:30 AM - 12:15 PM

New York City

Delighted to be moderating the corporate blogging panel, Corporate Blogs: New Examples of Excellence, at Bulldog Reporter’s Media Relations Summit. I’ve presented at this event before and I gotta say that it’s an extravanganza of cool people talking about topics I really care about: the revolution in PR, social media, the fate of traditional journalism, etc. I’ll also be signing copies of my book for those who are interested.

Dan Rather is giving the keynote on the Future of News.

My fellow panelists are Kodak Chief Blogger Jennifer Cisney  and RealNetworks blogger Lacy Kemp. Here’s what we’ll cover in our session:

Agenda for Excellence in Corporate Blogging

  • Why corporate blogging and how did Kodak and RealNetworks get started?
  •
  • The voice of the blog and who should write it? Multiple authors? Multiple personality disorder??
  •
  • What about comments? What if they’re negative? Do you need to have comments??
  •
  • Twitter vs. blogging: does every co. need a blog if they can Twitter instead? One corporate Twitter account or multiple Twitter accounts with employee names on them?
  •
  • Personal vs. corporate branding??
