Sweets and Tweets to Feature Anil Dash of Expert Labs and Microsoft U.S. Public Sector as Sponsor

The New Dot Com Is Dot Gov
Anil Dash, tech celeb and founder of the new DC-based incubator ExpertLabs, will be the speaker at the March 10, 2010 Sweets and Tweets. Anil was the first employee at global blogging company Six Apart and is considered a legendary blogger. I've known Anil for years (I remember when he first described Six Apart's TypePad blogging platform to me) and couldn't be more excited about his involvement with Sweets and Tweets. He is a thought leader on the evolution of social web technologies for government, science and culture and is now applying the lessons of Web 2.0 to government through ExpertLabs. The goal of Expert Labs is lofty but inspiring: to connect policy makers with the brightest minds and sharpest tools in technology.
Register here. Note that there are a limited number of tickets because of the size of the venue, the very cool Baked and Wired. They tend to go fast so don't wait if you're interested in attending.
Read Fast Company's February 2010 Who's Next interview with Anil: How Anil Dash Applies the Lessons of Web 2.0 to Government along with another interesting Q & A about Expert Labs. Listen to Chris Dorebek's interview with Anil on Federal News Radio.
I'm delighted to announce that Microsoft's U.S. Public Sector division is sponsoring this edition of Sweets and Tweets. The division is responsible for business across federal, state, and local government, higher education and K-12 markets, and the U.S. healthcare market. Its new Applied Innovations Team empowers public sector customers through development and deployment of solutions and social engagements, particularly in the areas of open and cloud computing, and social software. Special thanks to Mark Drapeau who has just joined MSFT Public Sector as Director of Innovative Social Engagement (love the title).
"Le tout DC 2.0 attends."
- Lewis Shepherd, director of the Microsoft Institute for Advanced Technology in Governments
