Below, Mark Walsh talks about crowdsourcing. His prediction : "Five years from now, we'll say: how did we live without crowdsourcing?" More tweets about the event at #SweetEvent. Read SmartBrief on Social Media's Q & A with Mark about crowdsourcing. @SBoSM

The July 9, 2009 event, sponsored by Genius Rocket and held at Baked and Wired, was SOLD OUT! Follow us on Twitter at @SweetsandTweets.

Sweets and Tweets, produced by Debbie Weil, is a series of sweet talks about the use of social media by established companies, startups, non-profits, trade associations and government agencies -- all the players in D.C.'s diverse technology community.

Note: space is limited, due to the size of the venue at Baked and Wired, and tickets are going fast gone.

Mark Walsh, entrepreneur, venture capitalist, politico and CEO of Genius Rocket, was the July 9th speaker. He talked about crowdsourcing everything from healthcare to lawncare to blog design and why - due to the flattening of hierarchies - this is becoming a new way of doing business.

Like our hugely successful first event (click through for attendee list), Sweets and Tweets was held at the ultra cool Baked & Wired in Georgetown. Baked & Wired’s cupcakes were declared the best in the nation in the March 2009 issue of The Atlantic.

Of course, every attendee got one FREE delicious cupcake.

Thanks also to our media sponsors: SmartBrief on Social Media, Jess3 and TechCocktail.
